The only gathering that could have topped this one, attendance wise, was his acceptance speech. I wish I could have attended that speech, I was at the time so proud to be from Illinois. Chicago is so close but alas I had no babysitter. Then us Illinoisans were put in our place by Blagojevich. But we will talk about him later. Today is Baracks day and it's almost as if the children realize they are watching history. They are only 3 and 2 and yet they have stopped to watch this with me. Koleman and I have been talking about this all last week, that he would be seeing history. Today we are proud again. To see a man that not so long ago was barely a blip on the radar of National Politics. But we knew him. He's been here many times. He's given speeches at Rockford College and the airport. I wish I would have been able to attend one of those speeches as well. And now, like I said I am in awe. How incredible for people from all walks of life. This is not about being black or white this is about a man who has inspired hope in everyone. His election has made so many feel renewed faith that in this country anyone can be president. But now I feel as if people are thinking after today it will get better. It may take some time, it won't be over night, 2009 will be a hard year but at the end because of this momentous change it will get better. Things will get better, we won't lose our house, my husband will lose his unemployment because he went back to work, we will not pay an arm and a leg for health insurance..... I don't know if Barack can change all our lives. But it's the first time I believed I had a voice, that somebody would listen to me. My vote counted. My opinion could actually make it to the desk of Barack Obama. For those of you who don't know, Barack has a website where you can send him and his staff your story. Receive weekly addresses from Obama. Give ideas for how Obama can change this country. How he can improve our lives. Once again I am in awe, thank you Barack, thank you for taking on this task. Thank you for making us believe again.

Now I hate to even mention Blagojevich in a post about Obama less I should tarnish a perfectly respectable tribute. But I wanted to put my two cents in by giving Blagojevich the small amount of space his disgrace deserves. Yes Blagojevich, we the people of Illinois did elect you to represent this great state. But hindsight is twenty- twenty. We now know we made a mistake, we were wrong to elect a man who did not care for the people. I know that you do not care by your stubborn refusal to step down. Your complete ignorance as to the magnitude of what you are accused of. Your inability to fathom that we could survive without you. Your lack of common sense in the realization that you could save this state a lot of money, time, and embarrassment by eliminating the need for a trial. You have lost the faith of the people you were elected to represent. And I ask YOU Governor is that an impeachable offense? And I tell you now Yes, Yes it is!

My plate why my plate???

This is Christmas 2007, pictured is my Christmas plate ready for Santa. Koleman helped put it out and Santa came and ate some. The plate has a picture of Santa Claus on it and says the year 1991. I think it was given to us a gift or something a long time ago (probably 1991). It was Corelle and we used it every year. My sister and I put it out just like pictured above every Christmas Eve for years. Somehow when I moved out it came with me. I don't know how!! I swear mom I don't. Either way we've been putting it out every year with Koleman. But this year there will be no more. My dear loving husband dropped a griddle of all things on top of it and broke it. I guess I could start a new tradition, with a new plate, but instead I'm here thinking, "How much superglue do I need to fix this?"

On the home front I've discovered exactly how excited a mom can get when her son finally goes poo poo in the potty. We're one week into potty training and everyday brings a new challenge with it. He wears panties as I call them every day and all night. He hasn't had many accidents as far as peeing in the potty but today was the first time he went poo poo. Now that Koleman is potty training Kaleb is totally interested in it too. How great would it be if I could get a two for one on potty training!!! Well gotta get to bed, talk to you guys soon!

It's me again!

I took a trip to myspace for a long time but I realize I prefer my blogspot buddies.
